Star Trek: Discovery Officially Renewed For Season 4

CBS

Sonequa Martin-Green, Doug Jones, Michelle Paradise and (surprise) Alex Kurtzman made the announcement today that, yes kids, there will be a fourth season of Star Trek: Discovery and it’ll begin production on November 2.

This follows previous, unconfirmed reporting over the course of summer and into the fall that the show had indeed been renewed, with even some indications that season 4 had begun filming at Pinewood Toronto Studios back in September.

Star Trek: Discovery’s third season just premiered last night, after post-production was delayed due to the global coronavirus pandemic, following full seasons of Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Lower Decks. In the lead up to Discovery’s new season, Alex Kurtzman recently stated that CBS has plans for the franchise until at least 2027. Kurtzman also explicitly addressed Discovery’s future, saying of the show, “I’m going to say, in all honesty, there are years and years left on DISCOVERY.”

But there’s definitely no way the show’s getting a fifth season, amiright?

Star Trek: Discovery is currently streaming exclusively in the US on CBS All Access, airs in Canada on Bell Media’s CTV Sci-Fi Channel, streams in Canada on Crave, and streams internationally on Netflix.
