I (23M) started talking to this girl (24F) online through a dating app (long distance so we’ve never met) about 5 months ago. Since then, we’ve established that we are bf/gf and committed to making it work.
Until a few weeks ago, it was very typical early relationship in that we were getting along very well and on the phone or FT every 2-3 nights, etc. She then began having issues with her housemates and friends, and we began to talk less frequently.
She is still taking classes and told me recently that due to finals coming up, she won’t be very available. I want her to prioritize her education, but we haven’t had a good conversation in a week. Beyond just talking on the phone, she barely replies to texts without being dry.
Since this is long distance, I find myself worrying whenever we stop contacting frequently because I feel as though she may be losing her interest in me. Even though she brought up the fact that she would be contacting me less, it still makes me worried and feel as though she doesn’t like me anymore. All our conversations are initiated by me, and this also makes me feel like less of a priority.
Should I be right to worry? I know she has a lot of stress and studying on her plate, but we haven’t talked at all in a week after talking so frequently. Her replies have been getting colder as well.
tldr; My girlfriend and I haven’t talked in a week because she says she is busy/stressed, but this is atypical for our relationship, and I’m worried her feelings are changing. Should I be worried/begin moving on? Or am I just overreacting?
