BTS Drama Youth: THESE actors to play RM, Jin, Suga, J Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook; Role, premiere deets revealed

After a long wait, we finally learn the actors who will essay the role of BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook in the upcoming BTS Universe drama titled Youth.

After much fan speculation and rumours about the casting, a number of details about BTS Universe”s drama inspired by the septet have revealed. To start off, the drama was initially referred to as Blue Sky. However, the production team has decided to change the title to Youth. However, the biggest news of the day is undoubtedly the casting of the show. Yes! The South Korean drama has found actors to essay RM, Jin, Suga, J Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook. 

According to Star News, via Koreaboo, Seo Ji Hoon has been roped in to play Kim Seokjin, Roh Jong Hyun to play Min Yoongi, Ahn Ji Ho as Jung Hoseok, Seo Young Joo will fill the shoes of Kim Namjoon, Kim Yoon Woo to play Park Jimin, Jung Woo Jin will play Kim Taehyung and Jeon Jin Seo will essay Jeon Jungkook. 

The team has shared a brief of each character on the series. Check it out below: 

Seo Young Ju as RM: The fictional version of the Bangtan Boys leader will tell the tale of an extraordinary boy with hopes of leading a simple life. The character grows up faster, maturity-wise, than others courtesy the numerous hardballs life throws at him thrown at him making him a responsible young man. Despite the hardships faced, the character aces at everything he does. As for Seo Young Ju, K-drama and Korean movie fans might recognise him from movies like Dong-Hwa, Snowy Road and The Age of Shadows. 

Seo Ji Hoon as Jin: The fictional character of the World Wide Handsome will be seen trapped in his father’s shadow, who is a part of the National Assembly. Although the charming face, he has trouble expressing his emotions. His father has his son’s life planned out, giving the character no space to do what he wants. As for Seo Ji Hoon, the actor gained recognition through his roles in Men are Men, Welcome, Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency, and School 2017.

No Jong Hyun as Suga: The small screen character is supposedly living with a horrible rumour. Word on the street is he has blood on his hands after killing his mother and burning the house down. However, he’s reportedly a warm boy with a cold facade. He finds solace when he’s seated on his piano. His life turns when he crosses paths with Jungkook. As for No Jong Hyun, the young actor has dramas like Kkondae Intern, Life on Mars, and Because This Is My First Life under his belt. 

Ahn Ji Ho as J-Hope: Although we will see the dance machine come to life, the character will be a tad dark for he been left alone by the world. The rapper’s character on the small screen is reportedly abandoned at an amusement park when he was a child but despite that, he ignites of a positive vibe. The character will be brought to life by Ahn Ji Ho who has previously been seen in Inseparable Bros, The House of Us, Nobody Knows.

Kim Yoon Woo as Jimin: Mochi’s small screen role will tell the tale of a boy who has hidden unimaginable secrets behind his infectious smile. His family is overprotective of him and the lies have left him in trauma, confusing him of his identity. 

Jung Woo Jin as V: Taheyung’s small screen role will feature a tale of a wounded boy who lives with a drunk father. The father reportedly changed after the singer’s mother walked out on them. Despite the tragedy, the innocent singer hopes his mother would someday return.

Jeon Jin Seo as Jungkook: The drama character is described as a boy who’s constantly curious about his existence, doesn’t find happiness among in his family’s instability and feels doesn’t feel different about life and death. While it is teased that he changes Suga’s life, we will have to see how their stories cross path. As for the actor, Jeon Jin Seo caught everyone’s attention with his role in The World of the Married.

Although the series is inspired by the Bangtan Boys, it is being treated as a work of fiction. Youth’s production team was quoted explaining, “This is a work that captures the reality of seven boys in a real but pleasant way, but it also shows complexity with the psychology. Being able to understand the characters, having acting skills, and having chemistry between the different characters was the most important thing for us. We completed a lineup of young actors and rookies with fresh visuals that will maximize the charms of each individual character. Please look forward to that synergy.”
