Well to start of this story let’s have a bit of context added to this delightful mixture of wonderful confusion. This happened back in my 5th year of elementary school before all this sickness Mumbai jumbo ever started. My school used to do this rally/fund raiser for the school to have a successful end of the year, because they don’t get enough from tax payers! :D. Now in this rally raiser ( yes we’re calling it that now, deal with it ) a lot of school children would usually help, wether to get free candy or seen as the best student in the class. So there was no shortage of other kids running around in white t-shirts trying to help the most they could, because we were as spineless as a washed up octopus. Somehow on this day I was wearing a white t-shirt, because this story needed me to look like someone who was helping.
Now let’s get to the people that are in the story of the day. M: Mother. J: Little brother. Rl: Random lady. F: Friend
Now to the story because the intro took way to much of your time.
So I’m there amongst the many other children trying to do there jobs like the little worker ants they were, now the origin of my white shirt came from a very close friend of mine that somehow was a teacher ( No I did not use that status to my advantage because I didn’t have to and made it through art with flying colors, lol flying colors ). She gave me the shirt because someone didn’t come and said they couldn’t, even though they said they could but that’s just something that was resolved later and was ok for the night. Now it was really cold in there, that being because we were in the gym and it was fall, so I put the white shirt over my other to layer it and hopefully make myself warmer. It worked and was substantially warm for the rest of the event. I then went around seeing if I could help small things like set up stands and help smaller ones in reaching things ( my family is y’all and I got the brunt of it and was super y’all back then for my age ) then the parents came in with there money in hand ready to waste it on edible goods and things they won’t bother to do later in there miserable lives. Me being the pushover I was opened the doors and welcomed them in like it was a county fair or something. Now it had been well over a good 30 minutes and people were getting into the swing of things and M was over on the side kinda dying in the loud noise of the crowded room ( M had fibromyalgia and didn’t know until this year and this event was a good indicator that something was wrong, don’t worry the pandemic is marking her a lot stronger with all the peace and quiet a mother could have with 3 children running around while doing her job as a teacher with 13 other smaller children to deal with ) Now where was I? Oh yeah, mother dying in the corner. As I was walking around helping with stuff I didn’t need to do and checking out the cool stuff that actually happened in this rally raiser, here is when Rl comes in.
Rl: Hey, do you know we’re I can get ( specific item that needs a lot of instructions to get but wasn’t listening so I don’t really know what she said in the first place )
Me: um, no but I do know someone who does
Me: Hey F, this lady wants to know the location of something and I was just wondering if you could help her
Rl: uh yes I asked this young sir were something is but he won’t answer me
( I just remembered she said that like F was the manager or something, lol )
F: yeah he isn’t part of the kids that are here to help he just came because of ( Teacher friends )
Me: No, I just came for the candy
F: of course you would
Rl: ( looking kinda embarrassed ) oh, sorry
Rl then proceeds to follow F to were she wanted to go, I had a few run ins like these but this one was the most memorable because of that comment after getting F. And if anyone is wondering, yes I got loads of candy.
TL;DR Went to a rally raiser and got asked were a thing was and then treated like the watered down version of an employee but nothing bad rally happened, and got candy
