I’m Dyslexic and British, so I apologies for my grammar, spelling errors and Northern English terminology, if any. Might be in the wrong place so please inform me if so.
I quit my job at the busiest petrol station in my town several years ago (not giving location, dates or company name because of my old boss who wears his tie behind his b******ks).
I had worked there for 15 years, I hated it but had to stick with it (massive unemployment in my town). The place was extremely busy 24 hours a day and worked 6 days a week. I worked there for so long, most of the town knows me either by name or sight (and still do). It also doesn’t help that I drive a very distinctive car.
I handed in my notice and almost immediately started getting my former regular customers knocking at my front door. Asking silly things like why was the place closed, why the LPG pumps were out of order, we ran out diesel, even an elderly Irish man who used to come see me at work because I would help him figure out the functions on his new Mercedes.
Most of the customers came to bark complaints at me because they couldn’t get hold of a supervisor or manager (I was the unofficial Assistant Manager for years). Because of my old wannabe Bluesmobile, they figured out where I live. Thankfully they all ended being good sports and understood that I couldn’t help them (except the old Irish guy, he’s always welcome, he’s cool) and told them my old employers could take a short walk off a tall cliff.
A couple of them told what I said about my old employers and old boss called me in 2018 stating I was banned from the store (which I very rarely visit anyway) saying I was being slanderous (basically for telling the truth about him being the cause of all misery, I’m also not the only ex-employee he’s threatened) and stealing their customers.
Basically, my old boss is being the Chad in this story.
This has gone on for years. It has quietened down as time passed. I was getting about a dozen a week knocking at my door at first, went down to around one or two a month before the pandemic and has recently started up again. The last old regular wanted to hire my old po-po interceptor for his sons wedding for next year.
