‘You’ll start by meeting with the coaches who will bring into a piece of paper with stats from your year just to drive home the fact how bad you are,’ he wrote. 

After a player is the officially delisted, Daniel explained that officials will ‘thank you for the time you have given to the club and wish you all the best.’ 

Daniel explained that a delisted player would then be forced to talk about their feelings to a club psychiatrist.

Speaking of his own experience, Daniel recalled telling the health professional: ‘I was just sacked two minutes ago I’m doing pretty s***. 

After being delisted, the athlete went on to be recruited by Carlton as a free agent, but faced another a setback during the 2017-pre-season when he suffered an injury to his Achilles tendon.

Daniel said, ‘I decided ‘retired’ next to my name looks like I decided to walk away when really, I would have been delisted.

‘I know I am bad at footy, I don’t need everyone to know I’m bad again,’ he said. ‘End your career on your terms.’
